Each work has its own roots, reaching deeper than the loose stones of the time’s spirit. Four young, contemporary Swiss artists were selected according to the exhibition’s thematic focal point, which the Neue Galerie itself had set.
Considered a challenge is the insidious elimination of public self-reflection in a performance-oriented society, in which a rejection of this achievement is often seen. What happens when the obligation to perform ceases to exist? Will this lead to chaos, disruption and erosion of meaning? These are questions, which will be asked by the works in the gallery. The self-contained exhibition approaches the topic and thus incorporates the observer.
Social conventions are to be analysed against the background of critical and self-reflexive work. Today’s generation of artists are characterised by the flexibility in relation to materials, form and, primarily, their presentations. Together, these are the main pillars of an exhibition, which will be surprising and convincing to visitors and observers.

Worries are an omnipresent chain of ideas – you can neither escape nor break away from them. An axiom as the starting point of an exhibition, which assimilates the psychological depression of today’s generation in its most creative form. Visitors are shown the works and personal anxieties of young and upcoming artists from Switzerland.
